THREE Ederney players have been called into the Fermanagh senior intercounty panel on the back of their Senior Championship success.
Mark McCauley, Sean Cassidy and Finbar Gillen, who recovered from a broken jaw sustained earlier in the championship to play his part in their final victory against Derrygonnelly, have all been brought in.
Three players from the beaten finalists have also been drafted into the panel. Michael Glynn, who was man of the match in St Michael’s Hogan Cup win two years ago, is set to be given his chance, while another forward, Gary McKenna, and full-back Tiernan Daly are the other two Harps players.
Conor Love, who was very impressive in Enniskillen Gaels’ run to the Intermediate final has been called up by Ryan McMenamin, as have teammates Fergal Quinn and Eoin Beacom.
A few other members of the all-conquering Hogan Cup team, namely Joe McDade, Garrett Kavanagh and Pol McKervey have done enough to impress, while Belnaleck’s Conor McCauley and Maguirebridge’s Niall Carson are other new faces.
It’s not surprising that so many players have been drafted into the panel as Fermanagh are set to do without Corrigan brothers, Ruairi and Tomas, and Jones brothers, Conall and Ryan, next year.
Offsetting that, somewhat, is the return to the fold of Sean Quigley, who took time out in 2020 to rest.
