Cunningham explains his Antrim return

ANTRIM player Paddy Cunningham has said that one of the reasons why he returned to county football this year was that he felt that he had unfinished business.

Cunningham made the comments during an interview in the most recent episode of Gaelic Life’s chat show, Take Your Points, which will be broadcast this Friday on NVTV (Channel 7 on freeview, and Virgin Media channel 159).

Cunningham also explained why he was pleased to see Mick McCann also return to the ranks under Lenny Harbinson.

In the interview, Cunningham reveals that moment that he realised he had to come back to play county football, and what that experience has been like.

The Lamh Dhearg man also joins Cahal Carvill and Ronan Scott to discuss some of the issues that have arisen in the past week.

They include Jarlath Burns’s failed Presidential bid, which Carvill suggests was met with shock in Ulster.

The pair also discuss Casement Park, and Cunningham suggests that the size of the new stadium, which will be bigger than the soccer and rugby grounds in Belfast, is a statement by GAA.

The Tyrone Dublin brawl at Healy Park last week also gets picked over, and Carvill argues that the GAA must make an example of all those who were involved in the brawl, and that the association can no longer brush aside incidents of violence during matches.

Watch this week’s show when it is broadcast on NVTV (channel 7 on Freeview in Belfast, or Virgin media channel 159) on Friday at 8.15pm and repeated on Saturday (6.25pm), and Sunday (9.15pm).
