Re-run for Ulster Intermediate final

THE Ulster Championship Intermediate final between Arva and Ballinderry will go ahead this Saturday after it was postponed last weekend due to Storm Darragh. The game has again been pencilled in for O’Neill’s Healy Park and it will be officiated by home boy Kieran Eannetta, a native of the Omagh club.

Elsewhere the Twinning final between Ulster Junior Champions Naomh Pádraig, Muff and Tara of London was also called off due to the weather.

The Muff side were due to play their All-Ireland Junior quarter-final last Saturday at 1pm but after a pitch inspection, the game was called off as the pitch was deemed unplayable.

It was disappointing for Dan McCauley’s Donegal and Ulster Junior champions who had made the expensive trip across the English channel.

The CCCC will meet this week to reschedule the fixture. It’s highly unlikely that it will be played before Christmas and it is expected that it will be rescheduled for January 4/5.

Last Friday’s Mageean Cup final between St Killian’s and Cross and Passion was also postponed and has been rescheduled for next Tuesday.

The Rannafast Cup final, which was due to take place today between Omagh CBS and Abbey CBS was called off as a mark of respect to the late Jody Gormley. Jody was a long-standing teacher at the Abbey and led the school to MacRory and Hogan Cup honours in 2006. He was also a former pupil of Omagh CBS.
