ARMAGH’S goalkeeping situation has suffered another blow following Mattie McNeice’s decision to leave the panel.
The Annaghmore man, who made his debut in the O’Fiaich Cup win over Down in December 2013, had played in this season’s League matches against Sligo and Laois.
The Orchard county have conceded more goals (6) than any other team across the four League divisions and that hasn’t been helped by their goalkeeping woes.
Paddy Morrison is currently side-lined through injury so young Pearse Og man Ryan Kearney was between the sticks for a recent challenge game loss to Carlow.
Another young ‘keeper, Blaine Hughes, was drafted in just before last week’s Longford game and the Carrickcruppen man was handed an instant debut. He has been named to start against Offaly tomorrow.
