New Roscommon coach Mark Doran has stepped down as manager of Derry club Sleacht Néill.
The Down native had been heavily linked with the vacant Monaghan and Derry jobs in recent weeks, as well as a coaching role with Galway, but ultimately decided to pitch in with Davy Burke out in Connacht.
That will prove his main focus in 2025 having informed the club at the weekend that he was stepping away.
The Robert Emmet’s last lifted the John McLaughlin Cup in 2020 and fell at the semi-final stage against then All-Ireland holders Glen, who would ultimately lose to Newbridge in the final.
As revealed by Gaelic Life on Monday, the other losing Derry semi-finalist this season, Magherafelt, have appointed former Derry coach Gavin Devlin as their new manager.
