MONAGHAN manager Malachy O’Rourke is set to take charge until at least 2020 after earning a one-year extension at a county meeting tonight.
O’Rourke’s current deal was due to finish at the end of next season but the county board have put their faith in him after he guided Monaghan to their first All-Ireland semi-final since 1988 before losing out narrowly to Tyrone.
O’Rourke has been in charge since 2013 and has secured two Ulster titles whilst also taking the side from Division Three to Division One.
