MICKEY Harte has been formally appointed as the new Derry Senior Intercounty manager following a specially convened meeting of the Committee County this evening.
The news comes after a whirlwind 24 hours. It emerged yesterday evening that Harte had departed the Louth managerial post alongside his right-hand man Gavin Devlin, whom he has brought along to Derry.
In a brief statement, the Derry County Board said:
“Multiple All-Ireland winning manager Mickey Harte has been appointed on a three-year term and will lead a management team including Gavin Devlin. Further details about the backroom team will be confirmed in due course.
“We wish both the management team and playing panel every success for the 2024 season.”
