GLEN have appointed former Donegal star Rory Kavanagh as their new senior football manager.
The All-Ireland winner takes over from Malachy O’Rourke who stepped down after four years at the helm.
Kavanagh will be assisted by David O’Herilihy who was his right-hand man in with St Eunan’s when they won the Donegal SFC in 2021.
Ironically, it was Kavanagh who nearly plotted the downfall of Glen in their first ever Ulster Championship.
His stationing of Aaron Deeney at number 11 curbed the attacking impact of Ciaran McFaul and it took a late Michael Warnock winner to clinch victory at O’Donnell Park.
The news comes in a week when Mark Doran was stepping down after two years with Sleacht Néill and the appointment of Gavin Devlin by Magherafelt, both reported by Gaelic Life.
