Galway and Armagh teams named for All-Ireland rematch

KIERAN McGeeney and Pádraic Joyce have named their teams for Saturday’s NFL opener in Salhtill.

Armagh have 10 of the team who started against the Tribesmen in last summer’s All-Ireland final.

Joe McElroy, Rian O’Neill, Aaron McKay and Paddy Burns aren’t in the squad while Conor Turbitt is listed on the bench.

Galway have selected eight of the team that started last year’s decider.

The teams will lock horns in Pearse Stadium to signal the start of the new season and will be a mucb anticipated clash to see how both teams approach the new rules.

The Tribesmen are without attacking trip Rob Finnerty, Damien Comer and Shane Walsh, with the latter listed on the bench.

The team will be skippered by Seán Kelly who came on in last year’s Croke Park showdown with Liam Silke and John Maher also among the subs.

Recent All-Ireland winning forward Colm Costello is a new face in Joyce’s plans as he leads Galway into a new season.
