Gaelic Life team of the week

THE county season began, the club season is closing down and the school scene is in full flow.

Here is our selection from last weekend’s action involving Ulster teams.

1 THOMASINA CASSIDY Derry

A tough day at the office for Derry, but Cassidy made a number of fine stops even during the heavy defeat.

2 EVA LEE Antrim

One of a number of standout players in the Ulster Minor semi-final win over Down in Ballela.

3 CIARAN QUINN Errigal Ciaran

Gave every ounce of effort as Errigal nearly pulled off the impossible.

4 TIARNAN COLHOUN Errigal Ciaran

Really came to the fore in the second half as Errigal fought back.

5 MAX CAMPBELL Southwest Donegal

Got up the field for a point in the side’s dramatic MacRory win over Omagh CBS.

6 CIARAN MCNULTY Monaghan

Got in for a goal in their challenge match win over Fermanagh in Tempo.

7 SHANNAN MCQUADE Fermanagh

On the scoresheet and involved in so much good play as Leitrim were downed.

8 ANNA MULHOLLAND Antrim

Got Antrim’s first goal in their comfortable league opener against Kilkenny.

9 LUKE CLERKIN Southwest Donegal

Fine point and a big influence on a great day for the Donegal amalgamation.

10 LARA DAHUNSI Antrim

Tore the Cats apart as Antrim started the league season in style.

11 PETER HARTE Errigal Ciaran

Late red shouldn’t take away from one of the best halves we’re likely to see in 2025.

12 CONNIE MCBRIDE Derry

Her first-half hat-trick sent the Oakleafers on their way to the Ulster Camogie Minor final.

13 ADRIAN MCGURREN Omagh CBS

Easily the best player on the field, but the Brothers gave up their titles.

14 THOMAS CANAVAN Errigal Ciaran

Had his eye in from frees and play, but it wasn’t to be.

15 EIMEAR SMYTH Fermanagh

Just the 1-12 tally to start the season as the Erne County started with a fine win away to Leitrim.
