Gaelic Life team of the week

AFTER another weekend of action across all codes, here is our latest Gaelic Life Team of the Week.

Armagh and Donegal left it late in the opening rounds of the All-Ireland Ladies Championship.

There were wins for Derry and Armagh in the All-Ireland minor quarter-finals.

At club level, we had some fine performances across Ulster.

Here is our selection…

1  ANNA CARR Armagh

Made a number of crucial saves in the narrow All-Ireland win over Meath.

2 EVELYN MCGINLEY Donegal

Player of the Match in Donegal’s credible draw with Kerry.

3 DONAL CURRAN Gaoth Dobhair

Great stuff helped Gaoth Dobhair to top spot after their win over Glenfin.

4 CONALL WILSON Armagh

Longford were sick of the sight of him by the end. Raced forward for three points.

5 MEGAN DONNELLY Derry

On the scoresheet and had a hand in many others as Derry beat Limerick in their camogie championship clash.

6 CLARA DALY Tyrone

Marked brilliantly and broke forward at ease against Wicklow.

7 DIARMAID O’ROURKE  Armagh

Sensational display against Longford. Ran the game from start to finish.

8 NATASHA FERRIS Down

Lovely dummies helped set up four great scores off her right in the narrow win over Westmeath.

9 TURLOUGH MCHUGH Derry

Four points from midfield, including a vital one when Dublin were coming back, secured a semi-final spot.

10 AOIFE MCCOY Armagh

Yet another stunning display, her first goal against Meath was sublime. Her second wasn’t half bad either.

11 DAVID GARLAND Donaghmoyne

Two goals and a series of points in the win away to Killanny.

12 EAMON YOUNG Derry

Another four points from play to add to the in-form player’s tally.

13 RUAIRI McCANN Antrim

The Aghagallon man nabbed two goals in the hard-fought Tailteann Cup win over London.

14 MICHAEL MCCANN Cargin

The wily veteran hit 1-3 in the rain against St Brigid’s.

15 DANNY FULLERTON Carrickmore

His great start to the season continued as he tore Ardboe apart in their Division One encounter.
