GAA club competitions set to resume on July 31

THE 2020 club season looks set to return from July 31 as details were released about the GAA’s ‘Return to Play’ protocol. They apply to the GAA, An Cumann Camogaíochta and the LGFA.

Club competitions must end by October 11, ruling out any chance of provincial or All-Ireland matches, with the inter-county season to begin on October 17 at the earliest. County squads will be permitted to train from September 14.

Clubs are permitted to start non-contact training from June 29.

Anyone attending a training session will have to fill in a questionnaire and record their temperature.

Clubhouses and changing rooms will remain out of action until further notice.

The issue of spectator numbers remains undecided and will be confirmed in line with government guidance.

The new format for the inter-county season will be announced once the GAA moves to phase three on June 29.

All these dates are dependent on continued medical guidance and are subject to change.
