FORMER Antrim hurling manager Darren Gleeson is set for a new role in Laois as the county’s senior hurling manager.
Gleeson, an All-Ireland winner with his native Tipperary, stepped down from the Saffron County in recent weeks before being replaced by Davy Fotzgerald.
A Laois GAA statement read: “The Laois GAA Executive Committee is pleased to announce our recommendation and formal proposal of Tipperary man, Darren Gleeson, for the position of the new Laois Senior Hurling Manager Subject to ratification by Club Delegates at the upcoming County Committee Meeting.”
