AFLW player Clara Fitzpatrick feels that counties in Ireland could learn lessons from Australian clubs when it comes to integration between men’s and ladies’ teams.
Speaking in an interview appearing in Thursday’s Gaelic Life, in which the former Down player discusses her future as a professional athlete, Fitzpatrick said that St Kilda had shown great leadership in the area.
“We’ve had open training with the men and they have come down to our sessions. They’re very good that way.
“We had top notch facilities and we had access to all of the facilities that the men had.
“We were using the same gym, we had access to the physios, the strength and conditioning coaches, the dieticians. I couldn’t really fault it.”
