Down club cancels training after member tests positive for Covid-19

DOWN club Atticall have become the first from Ulster to postpone some activities after a member tested positive for Covid-19.

The Mourne county club has cancelled all training until after Sunday, July 19, and they join a growing list of clubs who have had to act after positive tests.

In Cork, Glanworth, Argideen Rangers, Ballinascarthy and St Oliver Plunkett’s all had to hit the pause button, but some have already been able to resume. Dublin club Man O’War also postponed activities.

“A club member has tested positive for covid 19, and is following instructions from the public Heath Agency,” the Atticall club commitee said on their Facebook.

“All relevant people have been contacted, the public heath agency will contact any club member if they feel there is a concern. We will keep you up to date of any information received from them.

“The GAA have advised to continue as normal, although we have decided to cancel all training until after Sunday 19th July.”
