Doran joins Roscommon management team

By Michael McMullan

SLEACHT Néill manager Mark Doran will be the coach of Roscommon next season after joining up with Davy Burke’s management team.

The former Down player has coached his native county as well as Clare and Wicklow.

At club level, he guided to Ballybay to the senior title in Monaghan and has spent two seasons with the Emmet’s.

Doran will join Hugh Lynch, Eddie Lohan and Leo Tierney with the Rossies, with Lar Wall gone from last year.

There was speculation Doran – who was linked to the Monaghan vacancy – would take over from Mickey Harte in Derry

He informed the Sleacht Neill players that he had never met with anyone from the Oakleaf County.

The Irish Examiner have linked Peter Keane to the vacant Clare job, while Leitrim and Derry have yet to appoint a manager for 2025.

Leitrim are the latest county after Mickey Graham’s shock departure two months into the role.
