Another award for Emyvale star Eimear McAnespie

EIMEAR McAnespie from newly-crowned Monaghan senior club champions Emyvale has been honoured with The Croke Park Hotel/LGFA Player of the Month award for September 2024.
Emyvale made history on Sunday September 29 when they won the coveted county senior title for the first time in the club’s history.
Eimear, 26, captained Emyvale to glory against Magheracloone and she also produced a Player of the Match performance in the Final, contributing 1-3.
Eimear’s twin sisters, former inter-county stars Ciara and Aoife, were also in the Emyvale starting line-up.
Since becoming a Senior club outfit in 2009, Emyvale had suffered defeat in ten county Finals before finally making the breakthrough this year.
In early September, Emyvale signalled their intentions with an impressive victory over holders Donaghmoyne in Round 3 of the Monaghan championship, before impressively accounting for Emmet Óg at the semi-final stage.
Fuelled by years of hurt, Emyvale were too strong for Magheracloone in the county decider and will now turn their attentions to the AIB Ulster Senior Club Championship campaign, and a first round meeting holders Clann Éireann (Armagh) next Sunday at 2pm.
Eimear was presented with her award today by Ina Lazar, Assistant Director of Sales, The Croke Park Hotel.
There was also success for the ladies of Dungloe who won the intermediate title in Donegal. Their story is told in this week’s feature podcast by managers Tony Boyle and Raymond Sweeney. Link below via Spotify…
