LIVERPOOL FC have confirmed that they will be investigating the ability to stage Gaelic games at Anfield as further details of their proposed stadium expansion have come to light.
The club revealed the detail when launching the first stage of a public consultation on the proposed expansion of the Anfield Road stand.
“The plans for the proposed Anfield Road Stand expansion include exploring the opportunity for permanent permission to hold concerts and other major events at Anfield, including other sporting events such as Gaelic games and American football outside of the matchday calendar,” the club said.
Although there is a policy not to allow other games to be played at Gaelic games venue, matches have been played at other sporting venues such as Fenway Park in America.
