2024 Hurling Manager of the Year Nominees

Below are the nominees for the 2024 Hurling Manager of the Year sponsored by Hillgrove Hotel. Find out more about this year’s shortlisted nominees below.

Paul McCormackSleacht Néill

In his very first season in charge of the Derry club, the former Armagh dual star guided Sleacht Néill to Ulster glory for the first time since 2021. Sleacht Néill came through two tough battles against Cushendall and Portaferry but showed plenty of resolve to dig deep and come out on top on both occasions.

Eddie McCloskey – Carey Faughs

McCloskey, who won an All-Ireland club title with Loughgiel Shamrocks during his playing days, helped led Carey Faughs to their first Ulster title in a decade. The Antrim club had to do it the hard way and faced extremely difficult opponents all the way through the campaign before getting their hands on the cup.

Cathal McDaidBallinascreen

It was a historic season for the Ballinascreen club as they claimed the Ulster Junior title for the very first time in their history. Cathal McDaid was in charge of the men in the maroon, and they toppled all before them, beating Inniskenn, Ballela and finally East Cavan Gaels in convincing fashion to collect the provincial prize.

Voting opens at 10am on Thursday 13th February and will close at 10am on Monday 17th February. Votes do not determine the final winners but help create awareness of the nominee’s shortlisting. The winner of this category will be announced at our Gala Awards Night at the Hillgrove Hotel, Monaghan on Friday 7th March 2025.
