Ulster joy in qualifier clashes

Down, Derry, Antrim and Monaghan have all safely navigated the first round of the All-Ireland qualifiers.

Donal O’Hare rattled the net as the Mourne County survived a scare to get past Tipperary in Pairc Esler.

Derry rattled the net four times as they trounced Wexford 4-16 to 0-10 in Wexford Park.

Antrim overcame Louth in an upset with Matthew Fitzpatrick shining to the fore.

While, Conor McCarthy’s goal took Monaghan past Fermanagh, who become the first Ulster casualties of the season.
