Tyrone stick nail in the ‘Harte’ of Breffni men

Allianz National Football League Division One

Tyrone 1-15 Cavan 0-9

From Odhrán Crumley at Healy Park

Tyrone have made it two wins in a row at Healy Park with a comprehensive victory over Cavan.

Once again, it was Peter Harte that led the Red Hand charge kicking 1-3 over the course of the hour, finishing off a fine move to kick the all important goal.

Jack Brady and the returning Conor McAliskey traded frees in the early stages before the home team hit four scores in a row with Cathal McShane, Harte and Niall Sludden slotting over.

In truth, the swirling breeze that engulfed the compounds of the Omagh venue appeared to favour neither side as the All-Ireland finalists led 0-8 to 0-4 at the break.

McAliskey and Harte pointed before the latter hit the games only goal on fifty one minutes.

Substitute, Darren McCurry was the creator with a marauding run, dummying a defender before playing Harte in one on one.

Kyle Coney landed a simply sensational score as the strength of the Tyrone bench further emphasised their dominance.

The evergreen, Cian Mackey was introduced and kicked three rapid fire scores but it was to little to late as Tyrone claimed a vital two points.
