Tyrone Club Championship: Opening weekend round-up

Tyrone Senior Football Championship 

Errigal Ciaran 0-15 Eglish 1-8

Eglish were left to rue their missed chances as Errigal knocked them out of the championship, Ethan Jordan with the only goal of the game.

Edendork 2-14 Tattyreagh 0-8

Darren McCurry hit 1-5 as Edendork eased past the ‘Tatts’ with Emmett Hughes grabbing the other major.

Interestingly, Niall Morgan played in goals for Edendork after spending most of his club career as an outfield player.

Omagh 1-13 Dungannon 1-10 

Omagh survived a late Dungannon resurgence to advance after Ciaran McLaughlin hit the net with the first attack of the game.

Padraig McNulty got the Dungannon major but, it was a case of too little too late for the men in green.

Carrickmore 2-22 Derrylaughan 1-11

Carrickmore looked mighty impressive as they hammered Derrylaughan to setup a meeting with Edendork.

Goals from Rory Grimes and Martin Penrose sent Carmen well on their way as their inside line kicked a combined total of 1-15.

Tyrone Intermediate Football Championship 

Owen Roes 0-17 Stewartstown 1-6

Owen Roes cruised past Stewartstown on Friday evening to book their place in the next round where they will meet Urney.

Cathal McShane was on fire for the Roes while Gerard Devine rattled the net for the eventual losers.

Urney 0-10 Cookstown 0-7

Ronan Lafferty kicked seven points as the men in green and yellow overcame Cookstown in Pomeroy.

Pomeroy 3-14 Newtonstewart 0-0 

Gavin Goodfellow, Frank Burns and Ciaran McKenna grabbed the goals as Pomeroy inflicted a heavy defeat on the 2018 Junior champions.

Galbally 3-21 Strabane 0-3

Cormac Donnelly, Daniel Kerr and Conor Donaghy hit the majors for Galbally as they trounced Strabane on Sunday evening.

Tyrone Junior Football Championship 

Rock 1-11 Aghaloo 1-8

Rock hit the net with the last kick of the game to seal victory in a clash of two of the main contenders in Tyrone junior ranks.
