St.Michael’s Enniskillen hold on for historic Hogan title

St.Michael’s Enniskillen have withstood a late Naas rally to claim the Hogan Cup title in Croke Park.

The Fermanagh school led by two points at the break after playing with the breeze, Eoin Conneff netting the Naas goal after 13 minutes of action.

Man of the match in the MacRory Cup final, Darragh McBride responded minutes later with a fine taken goal in front of Hill 16.

Michael Glynn led the Enniskillen charge with seven points over the hour as his time extended their lead to four entering the final quarter.

Their opponents would rally and cut the deficit to one with six minutes of additional time still to play.

After an additional seven minutes of action, the whistle sounded to settle St.Michael’s nerves and que euphoria for the all-Fermanagh side.

Scorers: St Michael’s, Michael Glynn 0-7 (5f), Darragh McBride 1-1, Conor Love 0-3, Josh Largo-Ellis 0-1.
