O’Neills confirm that they are to produce hospital scrubs

O’NEILLS Sports have confirmed that they are to start the immediate production of scrubs to be used by health workers in the fight against coronavirus.

The company last week was forced to temporarily lay-off 750 staff as a result of the outbreak with their Strabane factory closing to May.

Operations have not stopped completely though with attention now turning to ways to assist in the crisis.

“With immediate effect, O’Neills are manufacturing scrubs for the Health and Social Care Trusts,” the company said.

“The health and safety of our workers is paramount. We are observing government hygiene and distancing protocol.

“We are delighted to support the work of frontline healthcare staff.”
