Mayo ‘Down’ Mourne men to get back on track

All-Ireland Football Qualifiers Round Two

Down 1-11 Mayo 1-16

Down have crashed out of the All-Ireland series at the hands of Mayo in front of a bumper crowd in Pairc Esler.

The Westerners led 0-10 to 1-4 at the break despite the blistering Down start with Caolan Mooney scoring a spectacular goal after eight minutes.

Conor Loftus grabbed the Mayo major in the second half effectively killing the game after Mooney spurned a great goal chance at the other end.
