Foy preparing for stern Sunday Scotstown battle

In this week’s Gaelic Life, Niall McCoy catches up with Burren captain, Cathal Foy ahead of the Mourne men’s battle with Scotstown on Sunday.

McCoy in the beginning outlines the history between the two powerhouses of club football in Down and Monaghan as they prepare for what will be the third time their paths have crossed.

Burren boss, Paddy O’Rourke installing Foy as captain providing the perfect linkman between the experienced campaigners and the all-conquering minor sides of recent times.

“These young boys have been used to winning the whole way up so it hasn’t really phased them at all.”

Having previously had their championship tenures ended up Kilcoo in the Down decider, the Burren skipper is relishing a crack at Ulster.
