Fermanagh SFC: Belnaleck almost cause monumental shock

Had Darragh O’Brien’s late free sailed between the sticks, last year’s intermediate kingpins, Belnaleck would have knocked the holders Derrygonnelly from the championship.

In the end, the ball went wide and the two sides would have to settle for a share of the spoils after an absorbing 0-8 a piece draw in Brewster Park.

Last years intermediate winners had to absorb the loss of Che Cullen to a black card with the reigning champions leading 0-6 to 0-4 at the interval.

Darragh McGurn got his team level for the first time in the second half before Conall Jones held his nerve to swing the late equaliser over.

O’Brien’s late miss from a difficult free means that the two sides will meet again for a place in the final.
