Dr McKenna Cup 2019 Round Two Round-Up

Tyrone have booked their place in the last four of the Dr McKenna Cup with a 2-14 to 1-9 win over Ulster University.

Goals from Declan McClure and Peter Harte secured victory for the Red Hands as Tyrone native, Daire Gallagher grabbed the goal for the students.

Lee Brennan knocked over four points for the visitors while 1-2 from substitute Peter Harte ensured a safe passage for Harte’s men.

In the other fixture in Section C, Derry inspired by a hat-trick of goals from Ben McCarron beat Fermanagh in a relative shoot-out in Brewster Park.

The Oakleaf men emerged victorious on a scoreline of 3-8 to 2-7 to keep their hopes of advancing alive ahead of Wednesday night’s final round game at home to Ulster University.

Ryan Jones and Darragh from the penalty spot, who finished with 1-3 got the majors for the Ernesiders.

In Section A, Donegal and Cavan will battle for a spot in the last four when they meet on Wednesday after both kept their 100% records intact.
