Cavan reach first Ulster decider since 2001

Cavan have reached their first provincial decider since 2001 with a six point win over Armagh in Clones.

The Breffni men eventually advanced to the final after 160 minute of action against the Ulster men over the course of both games.

Kieran McGeeney’s side were left to rue their missed chances, kicking ten wides while Jamie Clarke, Aidan Nugent and Mark Shields all passed up huge goal chances.

Mickey Graham’s men led by three at the break after a small Orchard resurgence but, scores from man of the match, Dara McVeety and inspirational corner back, Conor Moynagh sealed victory for the men in blue.

Cavan will now meet Donegal in this years Ulster Final on Sunday June 23rd at 2pm in Clones.
