Antrim SFC: Cargin edge Lamh Dhearg in thriller

Cargin 3-16 Lamh Dhearg 0-23 

Cargin edged Lamh Dhearg in extra time to claim back to back Antrim title’s in an instant classic at Corrigan Park.

Cargin raced into an early lead as Tomas McCann rattled the net after taking advantage of a mishap in the Hannahstown men’s defence.

Micahel Magill rattled the net just before the break but, scores from Tomas McCann and Michael Magill kept Lamh Dhearg in touch and they trailed 2-4 to 0-9 at half time.

Magill added a second major before Kieran Close but Damian Cassidy’s four in front heading into injury time and Paddy Cunningham levelled with to seal four on the bounce and send the game to extra time.

Eoin McKeown gave Lamh Dhearg the lead for the first time in extra-time before, the holders eventually pulled away through McCann and Jamie Gribben to claim the title.
