Dr McKenna Cup Section C
From Odhrán Crumley at Healy Park
It certainly wasn’t one for the purists as Tyrone claimed a six point victory over Fermanagh in what was a dead-rubber, last round McKenna Cup group clash.
The side’s went in level at the break on a scoreline of 0-2 apiece with a mixture of poor finishing and thoroughly defensive structures.
Aidan Breen opened the scoring after six minutes while Peter Harte levelled with the games next score from a free on 21 minutes, another Harte free was matched with a Conall Jones score to round up the first half scoring.
In the second half, the game developed more of an edge around the field as Harte’s five pointed frees alongside scores from influential substitute, Kyle Coney and Ciaran McLaughlin ensured the Red Hands would take their 100% record into the last four.
Mickey Harte’s men will now meet Derry in the semi-final having already beaten Damian McErlain’s men in the first group game in Celtic Park.
