Fantasy managers who are banking on a big defensive performance from Donegal in the NFL will take note that Rory Gallagher has drafted Peter Boyle onto his panel recently, after Mark Anthony McGinley was injured against Down.
There are question marks over whether Donegal’s defence is worth relying on in the National League Fantasy football competition considering the departure of Paul Durcan, who has went to Dubai.
Donegal are operating in Division one this year, against heavy scorers like Dublin and Mayo. Duncan’s departure has left the goalkeeping spot open, and with Gallagher being forced to change keepers, there’s a concern that they might be vulnerable to goals.
However, Peter Boyle has the potential to be a star as he won an Ulster u-21 title with Donegal, and was on the St Mary’s team during this year’s McKenna Cup campaign.
