Fantasy Football – Derry’s potential absentees

Unavailable for selection is Eoin McNicholl, as he has left the Derry squad. Daniel McKinless represented some scoring value in the league at half back, but has since been switched to full forward.

Another switch is Ciaran Mullan’s switch from half forward to full back. Coleraine star Niall Holly has been moved to midfield, having been available for selection at full back for the league. Both of those players were injured last week (Mullan; hamstring. Holly broken nose) Karl McKaigue has been made active and should be a regular in the full back line for the Oak Leafers.

Other players who are currently inactive for the championship are Barry McGoldrick, Conor Murphy, Ryan Ferris, Terence O’Brien and Patsy Bradley. However, Declan Mullan has been made available for selection.

Eoghan Brown of Bellaghy is a late addition to the squad, and might pop up for a few scores, though he’s unlikely to outscore James Kielt, Emmett McGuckin or Cailean O’Boyle.

Be wary of selecting Ryan Bell and Benny Heron though, as that duo are thinking of travelling to America after Derry’s game against Tyrone.

Sean Leo McGoldrick has hurt is hamstring and is doubtful to start next weekend.
