Here are the players who we expect to score heavily in this year’s championship:
Goalkeepers
Rory Beggan (Monaghan) – The Monaghan goalkeeper is a consistently good fantasy player as he takes frees and keeps clean sheets.
Raymond Galligan (Cavan) – Galligan has become the main rival to Beggan after a successful League campaign when he scored 93 points.
Michael O’Neill (Tyrone) – Tyrone’s net minder has a solid six players in front of him and that means his goals will rarely be troubled
Full backs
Paddy McGrath (Donegal) – Scored 40 points during this year’s league, should be a regular, and gets forward to score.
Colin Walshe (Monaghan) – Walshe will be a regular for Monaghan. Scored 45 fantasy points in the league.
Killian Clarke (Cavan) – Scored 73 fantasy points in the league. If Cavan have a big championship he’ll feature heavily.
Aidan McCrory (Tyrone) – A Tyrone regular, and will pick up lots of clean sheets.
Ronan McNamee (Tyrone) – If he can avoid the red and black cards this year, then he will score big.
Tiernan McCann (Tyrone) – There’s injury concerns about McCann at the moment, but if he gets past that he’s a brilliant option in defence.
Half backs
Peter Harte (Tyrone) – The only way Harte won’t score heavily this year is if Tyrone get knocked out early.
Barry Tierney (Tyrone) – Tierney’s trade mark move is a charge through the middle which ends in a goal.
Fintan Kelly (Monaghan) – The main man in the Monaghan half back line as far as fantasy football is concerned.
Darragh O’Hanlon (Down) – Were Down to have a surprise run this year, O’Hanlon will do damage on the score board.
Frank McGlynn (Donegal) – McGlynn gets forward and scores points, that’s what you need.
Conor Moynagh (Cavan) – Scored a massive 79 fantasy points in the league and that cannot be sniffed at.
Midfield
John Carron (Antrim) A left-field choice is John Carron because he is going to play in a more advanced role for Antrim.
Mark Lynch (Derry) – Lynch is a regular fantasy points scorer because he kicks frees. But how long will Derry be active? That’s the question.
Gearoid McKiernan (Cavan) – After he top scored during the league, McKiernan will be a popular choice.
Martin McElhinney (Donegal) – McElhinney was the fifth best fantasy midfielder from last year’s championship.
Mattie Donnelly (Tyrone) – This is the only player who should be a cert for your team. Named in half forward for league and championship, he’s been moved to midfield and that means he gets more points for goals and points.
Half forward
Dara McVeety (Cavan) – Top scored in this year’s league competition.
Odhran MacNiallais (Donegal) – One of the most reliable scorers. Top four in last year’s championship and this year’s league.
Thomas Kerr (Monaghan) – Kerr scord 40 points in the league, and could be a surprise option for the Championship.
Richard Donnelly (Tyrone) – He’s going to do well in this year’s championship.
Niall Sludden (Tyrone) – Scored 51 points in the league and could do equally well in the Championship.
Full forward
Conor McManus (Monaghan) – Injury is the only threat to McManus scoring heavily.
Sean Cavanagh (Tyrone) – Been getting the job done for over ten years.
Connor McAliskey (Tyrone) – McAliskey will have a big season, he’s an ace forward.
Michael Murphy (Donegal) – The best footballer in Ireland will always deliver.
Paddy McBrearty (Donegal) – Equalled Murphy’s score of 85 fantasy points in the league.
Stefan Campbell (Armagh) – Scored 81 points in the league when Armagh were dismal.
