Pauric Grimes says that the right attitude is important to making any sort of progress in your training.
He says that sometimes athletes tell themselves they are putting the hard work, when really they are not giving their best.
He gave an example in this week’s column:
“Two weeks in, the client had made no progress and the coach was getting the blame.
“This scenario is commonplace in the fitness industry and has two sides to it.
“The first is that the the trainer is to blame, as they haven’t helped the client in the ways they need to be helped in order to achieve their goals.
“The second side is that the client’s attitude isn’t where it needs to be.
“Bottom line, if you don’t have the right attitude you are limiting how successful you can be.”
In the column Pauric highlights more incidents which he has seen in his own gym, when the wrong attitude has limited a client’s success.
