Winning material on show in county final successes

By Shaun Casey

ON Sunday past, the main attractions from a sporting perspective were the Dublin football final and the Cork hurling final, both shown live on TG4 and both winners were dressed in McKeever Teamwear gear.

McKeever Teamwear, who also produce the jerseys for the reigning All-Ireland champions Armagh, designed the outfits for both Cuala (Dublin) and Imokilly (Cork), who were successful in those two big games.

This weekend, the McKeever brand will take centre stage in a number of different counties.

“We’re having an increasing impact around the country, more and more clubs and we have a number of them in county finals this weekend again,” explained managing director Padraic McKeever.

“We have Maigh Cuilinn in Galway, which is on TG4 as well. We have Na Fianna in the Dublin hurling final. We have Errigal Ciaran in the Tyrone football final and we have Clan na Gael in the Armagh football final as well.”

Having their brand appear on national television is “massive” McKeever continued: “I suppose it’s a result of more saturation of the brand around the country and that has a good impact, especially, you’ll see it following through on TV.

“It’s a massive, but we’ve no input in it. Even last weekend I think a lot of it was last minute down to weather and stuff like that, so it’s complete lottery.”

It’s been an incredible year for McKeever Teamwear, with Armagh winning the All-Ireland and they also produced all the gear for Sport Ireland at the recent Olympics in Paris.

“For a sports brand or any brand, if you can get TV time, it really increases brand awareness and especially in big events, whether it’s the All-Ireland final or a global sports event like the Olympics,” McKeever continued.

“Anything that gets good TV audiences is great for the brand and it’s really helped brand awareness and even just the level of enquiry we’re getting and just people’s confidence in the brand, so it’s all a massive help for us.”

McKeever Teamwear will once again team up with Gaelic Life as principle sponsor the Ulster Club All-Stars on Friday, March 7, 2025.
