TYRONE senior ladies manager Kevin McCrystal has taken the decision to step down ahead of next month’s Division Two relegation play-off against Clare.
The Carrickmore native has informed Gaelic Life that the players have stated their preference to go down a ‘different path’ after an indifferent start to their season.
McCrystal, who was in his second year in charge, has had a long association with the ladies scene in the county.
He managed the team for a spell during the noughties, and in more recent times has been involved with development squads in Tyrone.
In a statement, he said: “The players have decided they want to go down a different path and I have informed the executive of my decision to step aside.
“I’ve been involved with the senior ladies and development squads over the last five years and I would like to put on the record my thanks to Tyrone LGFA chairperson Donna McCrory and secretary Rita Hannigan.”
