Galway 2-25
Tyrone 0-12
Tyrone’s fears of being dragged into a relegation scrap are materialising following their 19-point drubbing at the hands of Galway at the weekend.
To compound their misery, star forward Cathal McShane seems certain to now miss their Ulster SFC opener away to Donegal on May 17.
McShane, who’d only recently decided to turn down an AFL move to the Adelaide Crows, dislocated his ankle in Tuam.
The hosts produced a stunning performance as Mickey Harte’s side ended the contest with 13 players. At the break, Pádraic Joyce’s men led 0-12 to 0-6.
Following the turnaround, the visitors lost both Kieran McGeary (straight red) and Frank Burns (second yellow). The Red Hands did show some signs of life with three pointed frees from Darren McCurry.
But all hope was eventually lost when McShane departed the field of play on a stretcher.
