PREVIEWS: The start of the Tyrone Senior Championship

TYRONE SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND ONE

DUNGANNON V TRILLICK

Thursday, Omagh, 7.30pm

DUNGANNON claimed an unforgettable victory over Trillick in the 2020 final after penalties. 2015 and 2019 champions Trillick haven’t gone anywhere and this is a block-buster way to throw-in the Tyrone senior championship.

Verdict: Dungannon

GREENCASTLE V DONAGHMORE

Friday, Omagh, 6.45pm

THESE two teams fared similarly well in Division One, so it’s hard to pick a winner. Donaghmore have brilliant players at youth level, but it’ll take a few years for that to filter through. Greencastle have steel in their ranks and might edge this one by a point or two.

Verdict: Greencastle

DROMORE V KILLYCLOGHER

Friday, Omagh, 8.15pm

ANOTHER incredibly tough one to call. Killyclogher have been in flying form all season and reached the league final, but there could be a big performance from reigning champions Dromore.

Verdict: Dromore

ARDBOE V OMAGH

Saturday, Pomeroy, 1.30pm

AGAIN, these are two evenly matched teams. Omagh had a stellar league campaign but the loss of Connor O’Donnell to injury is a huge blow. We’ll lean towards Ardboe on that basis.

Verdict: Ardboe

MOY V ERRIGAL CIARAN

Saturday, Galbally, 4pm

THE MOY face an upcoming relegation play-off against Clonoe, but they’d still like to put in a decent showing against Errigal Ciaran. Errigal are red hot favourites, but it’ll be interesting to see where injured forward Ruairi Canavan makes a return.

Verdict: Errigal Ciaran

MOORTOWN V CLONOE

Sunday, Edendork, 1.30

MOORTOWN just about stayed up in their return to Division One football, and have proved a very tough team to beat. Clonoe seem to be past their best, but they’re could be a kick in them. We’ll still go for the Loughshore men.

Verdict: Moortown

LOUGHMACRORY V DERRYLAUGHAN

Sunday, Edendork, 3.30pm

LOUGHMACRORY have proven themselves a very resilient outfit and should secure their second championship victory over Derrylaughan in as many years. Derrylaughan have a small pick and were relegated this season.

Verdict: Loughmacrory

CARRICKMORE V COALISLAND

Monday, Omagh, 7.30pm

THESE two teams met in a memorable quarter-final clash last season. Comeback kings Coalisland won out on that occasion, but Carrickmore have been building over recent seasons and will desperately want to win this one.

Verdict: Carrickmore
