All-Ireland winning defender Justin McMahon has been added to the Antrim management team for the 2024 season.
The Omagh clubman, who played such a key role in Tyrone’s 2008 success, was recruited as a coach by Andy McEntee as the Saffrons attempt to build on a promising 2023 campaign.
While a couple of last-gasp defeats to Fermanagh and Down saw their Division Three promotion hopes come to an end, they recovered to go on a good run in the Tailteann Cup after their Ulster exit at the hands of Armagh.
McEntee’s men made it all the way to Croke Park where they gave his former team, and eventual champions, Meath a real scare before losing out by two points, 2-16 to 2-14.
McMahon’s older brother Joe, who he dovetailed so brilliantly under Mickey Harte with Tyrone, was part of the Red Hand management team when they won their fourth All-Ireland in 2021.
