MONAGHAN have appointed a new minor football manager, taking over from Mark Counihan who stepped down after last season.
Former Farney star Dermot Malone was ratified on Thursday night after retiring from inter-county football last season.
The Castleblaney man will have a backroom team consisting of Paul O’Connor, Joe O-Boyle and Adrian Gunn.
Gabriel McQuillan was also confirmed as the county’s minor hurling manager with a backroom team of Patrick Hannon, Emmett Walsh and Gareth Brennan.
It comes after Vinny Corey’s appointment as the county’s senior football manager.
Benny Coulter was recently appointed as the Down minor manager, with Damian McErlain set to return to the Derry minor post and Martin Boyle moving up as u-20 manager.
