MONAGHAN manager Vinny Corey has stepped down after two seasons in charge.
The Clontibret man was a selector under Séamus McEnaney before assuming the main role ahead of the 2023 season. That turned out to be a fruitful one as the Oriel County reached the last four and gave Dublin a really tough contest.
The 2024 season was a more challenging one though as despite an opening round Division One win over Dublin, the side were relegated while championship defeats to Cavan and Galway ending their Ulster and All-Ireland campaigns respectively.
Gaelic Life has learnt that Corey has now taken the decision to step aside at the helm of the senior footballers, leaving the county with a major vacancy to fill for the 2025 season.
