CROSSMAGLEN and Armagh All-Ireland winner John McEntee has been appointed as the new Inniskeen senior football manager.
McEntee takes over from another Cross man Oisin McConville will stepped into inter-county management with Wicklow.
Inniskeen were on the wrong side of a 3-8 to 0-13 defeat at the hands of Scotstown in this year’s Monaghan SFC semi-finals.
They were Monaghan minor champions in 2018, but it’s 1948 since they last won the senior title and 1990 was their last final, a defeat to 37-time winners Castleblayney.
McEntee and Oisin McConville, as joint managers, steered Crossmaglen to their last Ulster title in 2015.
When Crossmaglen won their last Armagh championship in 2019, McEntee managed Clontibret to the Monaghan title the same year and the Farney side were 0-10 to 0-9 winners when the teams met in the Ulster campaign.
