GERARD McGovern and Pat Havern could be set for a return to the Down squad as Paddy Tally attempts to put together his preliminary panel for the 2021 season.

Burren defender McGovern had been abroad but returned last year and is expected to meet up with the Mourne county when collective training can resume.

Havern had been initially part of Tally’s squad in the early part of 2020 before opting out. The Saval man is also set for a return though and will provide another option at full-forward.

With the National Leagues set to be pushed back by a few weeks, team captain Darren O’Hagan could also be available from the start of the Division Two season as he continues his rehab from a number of operations last year.
