McErlain doesn’t stand for negativity – McKaigue

Karl McKaigue said that it has been difficult to settle back in after their club run

KARL McKaigue believes that Derry have addressed the problems that led to their relegation to Division Four earlier this year.

The Oak Leafer’s demotion to the basement division, a third relegation in as many years, represents the worst possible preparation for the Ulster Championship.

But in an interview with this week’s Gaelic Life, the Slaughtneil star says they have ‘aired out’ their issues in the build-up to Sunday’s Provincial Championship quarter-final against Donegal, and that the mood is good in the camp.

“We have our full panel out, and that has helped. Hopefully we can translate the training form onto the pitch.

“One thing that Damian [McErlain] has is he that he won’t stand for poor attitude. Attitude is everything. As long as you are committed to put your shoulder to the wheel, and commit to the cause, then you will have your place on the panel.”
