CONALL McCann had particular reason to celebrate Tyrone’s Ulster Championship final win over Down.
The Killyclogher midfielder played a bit-part role with Tyrone last season but started all three of their Ulster Championship matches this year. He speaks of his desire to continue his run with the county in this week’s Gaelic Life.
He was also delighted for his close friend Ronan O’Neill, whose two goals in the second-half effectively killed the game as a contest. His second was a flamboyant lob over the stranded Down keeper and McCann said it was a timely reminder of O’Neill’s undoubted talent.
“That’s Rony all over. He’d be one of my best friends and that’s the stuff he can do, he can pull off moments of magic here and there.
“He scored two goals, one of them was out of this world. That shows you the quality of our squad, there’s boys on the bench waiting to get on.”
