Mayobridge boss McKeever loses players to retirement

Ciaran McKeever (manager), Cathal Killen and Michael Lively (coaches) and James McGlade (S&C coach).

Championship programme:

Down SFC round one

Mayobridge v Kilcoo

Team news:

Mayobridge have lost a couple of men who have given so much to the cause over the years. Former Down players Conor Garvey and Cathal Magee, who also played for London, have called time on their playing days. It’s a lot of experience to lose but they have it in spades across the squad. Former Armagh forward Kevin ‘Barnsey’ O’Rourke has looked very sharp in pre-season while the likes of team captain Shane McNamee, Kevin McClorey, Ryan Brady and Shane O’Hare, who all played in the side that reached the 2012 Ulster U-21 final, make up the backbone of the side. The recent league matches have been used to blood a few young players to compliment what has been a fairly familiar team in recent seasons.
