Marathon men Naomh Conaill reach Ulster decider

Ulster Club Senior Football Championship Semi-Final 2019

Naomh Conaill 0-12 Clontibret 0-9

They’re doing it and they just keep doing it after two county final replays before competing in the next round of Ulster less than four days later, no one expected Glenties to reach the Ulster decider.

But, here they are sitting pretty waiting for their opponents for December 1st to join them, that being the winners of Kilcoo and Derrygonnelly.

Martin Regan’s men were the hungrier side in Healy Park, spurred on by man of the match Eoghan McGettigan who kicked five points.

The midfield pairing of Leo McLoone and Ciaran Thompson starred in the pursuit of a final spot.

From the moment that Naomh Conaill went 0-6 to 0-1 up in the first half, it looked almost certain that Clontibret would need a major to win the game.

Of course, that major never came as a seemingly hungrier Donegal champions booked their place in the Ulster decider for the first time since 2010.
