WITH the final round of league fixtures set to take place this weekend, all six divisions have already crowned their league champions, but there are still a few relegation deciders that will draw plenty of interest.
Clann Éireann retained their Division 1A league title last week when they saw off Killeavy by five-points to secure their tenth victory of the campaign. Jack Conlon top scored with 0-4 on the night while John Magee and Rioghan Meehan shared 0-6 between them.
Granemore, who are the only team to have beaten Clann Éireann this season, and Dromintee were both relegated from the top tier and will spend the 2025 season battling it out in Division 1B.
Mullaghbawn bounced right back up to the topflight and carry with them the Division 1B league title. Joining them at the top of the table are last years beaten Senior Championship finalists Clan na Gael, who picked up promotion by beating Maghery last week.
Clans host Ballymacnab this weekend, with former ‘Nab coach Ronan McMahon now in charge of the Lurgan Blues. The ‘Nab need to win, and hope Maghery lose to Culloville, to remain a senior club.
Sarsfields have already been demoted, and Ballymacnab fired seven goals past them last weekend. Only a win will do for Ronan Murphy’s side, who will be safe should Maghery draw as they have the head-to-head advantage over the Loughshore men.
Pearse Og have fought their way back up to senior football having captured the Division 2B league title and will be one of the favourites for the Intermediate crown come championship season. Carrickcruppen have also earned promotion back to Division 1B.
At the bottom of the table, Grange have suffered back-to-back relegations and will ply their trade in Division 2B next season, alongside Annaghmore. In Division 2B, Belleek ran away with the league title and secured promotion a number of weeks ago.
There’s an intriguing battle for second place however as four teams are currently locked on 15-points.
Wolfe Tones, Whitecross, Clann Éireann IIs and Derrynoose are all pushing for promotion.
Wolfe Tones are in prime position as they lead the pack on score difference and they take on Clonmore this weekend, who have already been relegated. The winner of Whitecross and Clann Éireann IIs will put themselves in a good position while Derrynoose meet Tír na nÓg.
