Hurling management changes in Antrim, and Loughgiel are waiting

THE defeated county champions Loughgiel are taking their time over appointing a manager for 2021.

The Shamrocks were beaten by their rivals Dunloy in the 2020 final. They have not won the Senior Championship since 2017. The club are awaiting confirmation of their manager for 2021.

Last year’s manager was Hugh McCann. He is in for the job again, but the committee have yet to ratify him. The matter should be dealt with soon. The Cushendall senior hurling manager is Brian Delargy. He played for the club and has also worked as a hurling coach in Derry.

Meanwhile the Naomh Éanna hurlers will be managed by Mickey McCambridge from Cushendall. They have formerly been managed by Terence McNaughton. McCambridge has worked as a coach for his own club in 2019.

Ollie Bellew, who has managed Cavan amongst others, is the new Ardoyne hurling manager.
